South African-born, Liezl trained Contemporary and Jazz at New York's Broadway Dance Center mentored by Ashle Dawson, a "So You Think You Can Dance" finalist. She later pursued vocational training with London's Springs Dance Company, showcasing her choreography 'Angst' at the All in the Mind Festival in 2021. She holds a Level 4 Choreography Diploma with International Performing Arts and Theatre (I-PATH) facilitated by Rick Tjia, known for Cirque d’Soleil and La La La Human Steps.
She is currently company member with dance theatre companies, Infusion Physical Theatre in Cambridge and both E33 Dance Company and Alauda Dance in London.
In 2022, her piece 'Against the Tide' was an International Online Dance Competition (IODC.com) finalist. Liezl has taught and choreographed for competitions and events at Five6Seven8 Dance Studio in Johannesburg and performed with Breaking Conformity Productions and Bellyqueen in New York.
In 2022, she founded Dew Dance, a Buckinghamshire-based contemporary dance company, performing at Signdance Collective's Next Generation Festival (2023), Bucks Open Weekend, and had her dance film 'Grow' selected for the 2023 Fisheye Film Festival.
She recently completed Safe in Dance's Preparation for Healthy Dance Certificate and attended artist development programmes with both BOP Jazz company (Dollie Henry, London) and Non-traditional Partnering with Bill Wade (Inlet Dance Theatre, USA).
